We've built our foundation on the gospel of Jesus
At St John’s Lutheran Primary School, we believe the gospel of Jesus Christ is the foundation for fostering healthy relationships within our school community. God’s love and forgiveness, as shown through Jesus, is the cornerstone of our behaviour management approach.
While a Christ-centered community is not perfect, and individuals may reflect this imperfection, we are committed to embodying Christian values through example, teaching, and, when necessary, correction. This is done in a loving and supportive environment that promotes faith, hope, justice, and reconciliation.
Behaviour expectations are clearly communicated to all members of our community. We encourage students to make thoughtful choices in both their academic pursuits and social interactions. When mistakes are made, we provide guidance to help students make positive changes.
Strong student and teacher relationships
Central to every learning journey is the relationship between teacher and student, which has a significant impact on the quality of learning. In the classroom, we maintain a clear set of expectations to support the learning process.
Our aim is to motivate each student to take responsibility for their own behaviour and make decisions that reflect consideration and respect for others.
Effective behaviour management is a partnership between the school and families, and is anchored in our care for each student’s well-being. Students are guided to understand that their behaviour choices can lead to either positive or negative outcomes.
